Easy Knitted Hat

Learn how to make a simple knitted hat with this step-by-step tutorial that’s easy enough for new knitters to follow.  You will make a simple Chunky style hat with added pom pom. There will be an option for Rib or Stocking stitch hat within this workshop. This hat is knitted flat and sewn together with a seam at the back.

This pattern can be adapted for ladies and men style, with or without a pom pom!

With this hat knitting pattern, you’ll get lots of practice with the 2×2 rib which makes up the majority of the pattern. Then you will work with crown decreases and a super simple casting-off method. Don’t worry if you aren’t a pro knitter either, as long as you have a basic understanding of knitting and are comfortable with knits and purls, you’ll do just fine.

Try either of the yarns we recommend or choose your favourite medium weight to substitute. This one is flexible enough to use just about any medium-weight yarn you want. Just be sure to check the gauge first!
